The client had sophisticated transaction
processing systems but needed additional
reporting. We assisted in the implementation
of Hyperion for the additional financial
reporting.
The client was one of the first commercial
REITs and needed new processes and
technology. We conducted a systems
selection and implementation. The
project was successful.
The client had 40 stores and was interested
in rapid expansion to 400 stores.
The scope of the work was to determine
what was needed to support the business
in its growth from 40 to 400 stores
all business processes and
information systems. We did an information
technology strategy for all areas
of the business and then performed
a selection. We performed an implementation
plan for the company to execute. It
was the first company to use basic
stock replenishment algorithms in
each store to determine the baking
schedule. The CEO credited the ideas
developed in this project as the reason
for the success of the business.

The client was expanding operations
and needed more inventory, but the
inventory levels were too high. We
developed an entire database and algorithms
to support basic stock replenishment,
history tracking, and then custom
developed the system and implemented
it. It had the net effect of reducing
inventory levels by 30% and increased
efficiency dramatically. It was the
first time the retailing industry
had tracked demand and ordered by
size rather than by style. This provided
the accuracy needed for the savings.
